This survey is currently in progress.
This national research project explores the experiences of people living with sickle cell when accessing emergency and hospital care. By identifying gaps in pain management, communication and clinical practice, we aim to drive meaningful improvements in sickle cell crisis care across the UK.
Working alongside people living with sickle cell, the findings from this survey will shape the initial direction of Beyond the Crisis—informing the resources, education, research and future projects we develop. They will also help us build targeted partnerships with healthcare professionals, NHS organisations, researchers and other stakeholders to address the areas of greatest need.
Our current goal is to collect at least 400 responses, providing a strong evidence base for meaningful analysis. Once data collection is complete, the findings will be analysed and published to help inform future improvements in sickle cell care.
